Expectations

Consultation: An initial, no-obligation phone call to explore where you are and what you are seeking help with. If agreed, that our services are a good fit, we will proceed with scheduling your first session.

Onboarding: During the consultation, you will schedule the day and time of your first online session.  You must prepay for the first session (invoice payment due 48 hours prior to first session).  You will receive a link, via email, to securely review and electronically sign documents (Counseling Ministry Waiver, Counseling Disclosure and Acknowledgement, Intake Questionnaire and Administrative Policies) before your first session.

First Session/Intake: We will begin the exploration of your God-given, inborn temperament. This exploration is valuable because it will help you discover the strengths you may develop as well as the weaknesses you may resist. It will also reveal unmet needs that can cause stress and conflict in your life and your relationships with others. It is difficult to consider possible weaknesses in our lives, but if we are open to change, understanding our weaknesses can help us resolve conflicts and improve our relationships. The nature of your temperament can hold the key to helping you find Godly solutions to your problems.

Approach: We adhere to your physical, emotional and spiritual health in your quest to establish and maintain a balanced life. We inform, equip and encourage as we walk alongside you on your path of healing, re-direction, discovery, re-affirmation and rejuvenation.

Session length: 90 minutes

Online sessions: Your geographical location is not a limitation. You will be asked to review and sign an Informed Consent prior to your first online session.

What is temperament?

It is the inborn (not genetic, i.e. brown hair, blue eyes, etc.) part of us that determines how we react to people, places and things. In short, it is how people interact with their environments and the world around them. Temperament pinpoints our perception of ourselves and the people who love us. It is also the determining factor in how well we handle the stresses and pressures of life. Temperament can best be defined as Spiritual genetics or God’s imprint upon each one of us. Three are involved in the conception of a child, the mother, the father and the Creator.

Do I have to be a Christian or attend a certain church or denomination to receive help?

You are not required to be a Christian or to attend a certain church or denomination to receive the help you need.

What sets TemperedFit: Therapy apart from any other counseling/therapy option?

We start by studying your temperament. Helping you to understand the deepest part of your being, we then go beyond the exploration of emotions to deal with issues from your core. You are a uniquely created individual. That means your relationships, your life (your stuff) are all unique and cannot be duplicated. We recognize that truth and honor your uniqueness by providing “boilerplate free” care. We will incorporate your faith and spirituality according to your desire and comfort level.

Do you ever make referrals to other services?

Not every therapist is able to help every person. Referrals are made to other counselors/therapists when necessary. Depending on the unique situation or circumstance, counselees may also be encouraged to see their physician, attorney or other professionals .
